Where should I start?
I’m Danilo. 30 something (yeah, I start to have grey hair). I consider myself a citizen of the world. Born in what was yesterday’s Yugoslavia, I spent the major part of my life in lovely and quiet Switzerland. I miss my ‘country in-law’ for sure, my family and friends, cheese, chocolate and many other things.
This might be the moment when you’re wondering ‘Why the hell is someone leaving Switzerland?’ That’s the best country in the world!’ It surely might be. But here’s the story of my life…
As much as this country and life offered me, I always aspired to be wild and free. Those who know me the best know that I’m never satisfied with the status quo. I always aspire for more. I believe life is a continuous battle and, to enjoy it the most, there’s no surrender. I love being surprised. I moved to San Francisco in 2015 after having completed a recognized (and memorable) education, and worked for two fantastic companies. I had a comfortable life with a view over Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps, but deep inside, I wanted more. San Francisco was calling…
I arrived like a freshman at University, lost in this urban jungle. 3 years later, here I’m telling you my stories and adventures.
There’s a lot about me that might (or might not) resonate with you. I love nature, but before moving to the Bay Area, I never camped (boooh!). Shame on me. Now, hiking and backpacking is a passion. And I also deepened my interest for landscape photography – two-in-one. I also enjoy spending time with my wife and little dog (follow him on Instagram), I call them my best companions. Always there, no matter what. Lastly, I play a sport called Handball (Team Handball in the U.S.), so you might read me say something along this subject…
I created this blog to share my thoughts, passions and life with those who I love but also those who I miss on a daily basis. If you can’t come visit, then you better read my posts while they’re free (just kidding). Worst case, you can find me on Instagram or LinkedIn.
Enjoy the reading…
